A local restaurant that serves pizzas, stews, empanadas and not necessarily just big steaks. I had a spicy beef empanada that was just delicious - juicy and flavorful. Tried the locro (a traditional meat stew complete with hominy, lima beans, sausage, bacon and roast beef) and it was wonderful; kind of an Argentinian cassoulet. Not on the tourist list (yet) but really worth visiting.

Just finished a nice lunch. The empenadas were hot with tasty fillings, but the pastry was a bit dry. Pretty standard salads. A fine house red wine by the pitcher (thanks to the other reviewer who suggested that). The local chorizo sausage was a generously portioned but not all that flavorful.

This was probably the best steak I've had in Buenos Aires (but I'm not finished trying yet)! A rib-eye cooked medium-rare as ordered with fantastic flavor. Wine list is extensive and reasonable. Service was tops.

Very busy on a Friday night. They brought out chips and salsa when we sat down at the last available table. We had taquitos dorados and choriso queso for starters followed by "Tiras" mexican steak with cactus and chicken mole (both served with rice and beans). Margaritas were good and plentiful!

Glad to add someplace wonderful in Amsterdam. Had lunch here today. You could tell it was going to be good just by the scent of great food outside the restaurant; it kept getting better the further you go in. Two of us had a lunch special (escargots and flank steak) that was really special, bouillabase (spelled that one wrong) with thin crisp croutons and a salad du jour with duck confit. Super dessert choc. torte. Even the espresso was great. Serveur tres sympat (and quite pretty too). Going back in a day or two to try the dinner carte.

Intensity of the flavors.

The papas fritas rustica is just sliced baked potatoes covered with cheese and some spices - should have just ordered the regular frites.

Flavors were just missing the punch of great Mexican cuisine. A bit toned down, I guess.

Wasn't thrilled with the Chassagne-Montrachet rouge.

Today I enjoyed the 20 years so 20 chf menu at lunch. It was wonderful. The soup "creme de courge" was hot and flavorful. The "onglet de boeuf" was beautifully cooked and a delicious piece of meat (except mine did not have the red onion chips). Wines were also wonderful and reasonably priced.

For a quick lunch we ordered the lamb tagine with pruneaux (nicely served with good sauce) and the Iraqui Mosul Had Bah (beef, potatoes, aubergines... - which turned out to be a small portion of meatballs in a flavorful sauce).
A bit expensive. The red wine ouvert from Liban was not to my taste.

Milagros takes Mexican cuisine to the highest level. The ingredients are fresh and creatively prepared in the styles of the various regions of Mexico. Their tortilla chips are home made as are the salsas (including a very tasty pumpkin seed salsa). Their habanero salsa is the real thing; very hot and spicy without being overpowering. Two styles of mole (verde and poblano) - both wonderful, but the poblano is my favorite! Giant burritos, duck carnitas, freshly made tamales ... what more can I say! Well - there are incredible desserts (churros like you've never had before) and margaritas to rival any in the world. You could say we really enjoyed ourselves. FYI - we do know the owners and were fortunate to be guided through our meal with them. This in no way influences the outcome of my review. I have been searching for good Mexican food since coming to Europe 8 years ago, have finally found it!

Delicious, authentic Indian food in Chamonix. If you are familiar with Lausanne, this is like an Indian Chez Xu! Have visited numerous times over the years and they never fail. The starters: onion bhajees, keema samosa and chicken tikka - all yummy. We had 2 lambs this time, Balti and Bhuna, both wonderful. Prawns Madras!!!! "Chilly Chicken" maybe the tastiest of all with the unexpected fresh veggies.
Could use more of the chutneys/sauces brought out for the starters.

Second time we've visited Alan Peru. Creative mix of foods on the menu. I have to say that the Asian selection is my favorite. The Savoyard salads were good but nothing special. The Jarret de porc croustillant, however, is truly special with a densely flavored sauce and tender yet crispy pork pieces. Yaki noodles with chicken came in second place, with the Boeuf Pad Prik a distant third. Pity they didn't have the Souris d'agneau (because I remember that one was a winner from our visit last year).

Accueil chaleureux.

I like: Beautifully prepared food. Crisp, fresh vegetables. Nicely seared meats. Attentive, but not overbearing service.

I don't like: Misrepresentation - saying that you are serving a particular dish or sauce and delivering something else. Pretentious attitude - when the serving staff act as though they are doing you a favor. When I ask for the check (l'addition) why is this taken as a request to clear the table??
