Brasserie-like decorated restaurant, tres "Franglais" in a quiet street near Berkeley square in Mayfair. No fuss food, simple and well cooked. Effective service (we didn't have much time for lunch); typical haunt of old-Mayfairites used to having the same (good) food... a bit like a posh canteen. Fun to watch.

Creative seasonla british food inside the tate Gallery, perfect for a breakfast/lunch/afternoon tea before or after the exhibition! Had roasted wood pigeon with celeriac and apple remoulade with a red wine reduction as a starter which was a great combination of fresh flavours. Had a sirloin steak from the Grill: very tender and tasty; great bearnaise. The Rex Whistler mural is worth a visit and gives the restaurant some atmosphere while it's located in a the basement. Awesome wine list with great selection of half bottles. Good bread which is always a good sign.

Simple, very well executed food; Great value for money lunch menu in Mayfair (£22 for 3 courses), near Regent Street/Oxford Circus; good bread served lightly warm; all wine available by carafes (250ml);

No light; rather simple dishes for the price; presentation could be improved; little space between tables. A bit old fashioned...

A bit cheap on the Bearnaise (had to ask for more than a spoon...); the decoration is a bit "green" (the mural is a bit overwhelming) but that's just my taste :o)

Don't look at the ceiling...really shabby although the wood panels are nice; service could smile more...

Desserts. Salle un peu froide. Perdu au bout de la Rue de la Tour...

Have now been to sister restaurant Wild Honey and prefer it over Arbutus (nicer atmosphere for same type of food).

Sister restaurant to Arbutus, that shows: great seasonal food in a relaxed atmosphere. I had the pre-theatre menu (£22): pressed chicken and eel = fresh, well balanced terrine with a delicious chutney; venison cottage pie = generous portion of tasty venison mince; finally, ile flottante with pink pralines=ok. Good selection of wines (also carafes available which is rare in Mayfair). Nice mix of people, from businessmen to relaxed neighbour. Wood panels give the room a warm atmosphere.
Effective service... maybe a bit too effective sometimes (i.e. keen to free the table). Ile flottante was too sweet for my taste.

The perfect place for a post-theatre (or Opera) as it is steps away from Covent Garden! Fresh seasonal food; lots of flavour (linguine with pot roasted hare and pomegranate; ravioli of pumpkin, tomato and mozzarella); famous spot for opera singers...
In a basement...

Nice atmosphere: dining in a townhouse in the middle of Carnaby St; good French classics; nice selction of organic wines from South of France
Feels a bit like a French restaurant for tourists... we were not presented with the special of the day (grouse) although our neighbours did...

Specialised in a few dishes all of German or Swiss origin. There is an excellent plate of grill pork, bratwurst (veal sausages), lovely garlic bread, and a tasty brochette of chicken. this is comfort food rather than gourmet fare, but the restaurant has been around for 40 years and many of the waiters are there since the early days. Service very warm and friendly. If it is not too hot try and book a table on the terrace. Even the rosti was not bad.

Lovely hotel. We had deserts on the terrace by the pool. Decorated in a British country style., the deserts are not to be missed. Absolutely delicious. If the rest of the food is anything like the deserts you will not depart dissatisfied.
