An amazing restaurant in a great setting. This restaurant has been rated as best top restaurant summer terrace by Gault Millau in Belgium. And indeed we can confirm the atmosphere is just great. We had the chance to visit this restaurant during the Diningcity "restaurantweek" at a reduced menu price. The tasting menu was just great! Very nice starter, Carpaccio of Langoestines. All dishes were of top quality. Service very professional. For sure a place to come back and to watch in the future....

Be_Gusto Event was absolutely great. Our visit during the restaurantweek in December with the special menu and great atmosphere. We started with a tartare of langoestines and flan of lobster. The cabillaud with girolles and smoked foie gras was absolutely delicious. As a main course the pheasant with chestnut, jerusalem artichokes and celeriac. All this followed by a delicious chocolate parfait with nougat ice cream. Also the wine arrangement was very good...

Very young chef with big potential. Located in the countryside about 20 minutes east from Antwerp. the interior was nice but for me too classic and not reflecting the young owners. We took the fix lenu and the starter was excellent with lobster, eel and celeriac. A bit truffeloil but not too much. The currysoup with broccoli was absolutely too spicy and killed all wine flavours. A bit too much in a gastronomic menu is my opinion as the taste stayed for hours. As a main course the veal was excellent again with correct cuisson. Also the citrus dessert was taste wise good. It only took far too long and we could only leave at 11.30PM. e had an excellent white portugese wine, donna Maria, amantis...


To be improved (Claritas):

We prefer to choose one good bottle of wine instead of the wine selection that goes with the menu....

Very stylish interior and excellent welcome. The appetizer was served with about 8 excellent small amuses. All with very intense taste and special compositions. The starter was well balanced and light. Halibut with textures of watercress and topinambour. The main course personally i experienced as less special and tasty. The duck with pumpkin and speltwheat risotto was nicely flavoured with foie gras but it was not my favourite. The dessert on the other hand was excellent with excellent combinations of tangerine, cocos parfait, basilicum and sesam seads. A perfect closing with the coffee with excellent home made cookies and chocolates. This restaurant will move next year April from a small city to a new trendy area in Antwerp. The restaurant will re-open on the top floor of the new built Antwerp museum. For sure the 2 michelin stars will be moved also to this gastronomic city!...

The restaurant got very good feed back from various friends so it was about the time to finally visit them. We were a little unlucky that more than halve of the restaurant was used for a family dinner. Service wise off course this was noticed. We were nicely welcomed and the cold starter was excellent, agnus beef carpaccio with langoestines tartare, sorbet of mustard and quail egg. The sole with hot lettuce and champagne sabayon was also surprising and very tasty. Main course of beef tournedos, with potato gratin was a little to basic. Instead of dessert we were lucky having chosen the cheese chariot! Superb....


To be improved (Hof Ter Hulst):

Service was slow, little lack of professionalism. We could only leave after midnight due to a slow service. Being informed this is not typical for them....

Be-Gusto Event February. Finally the day was there to experience this young chef's delights. He has been honoured by Gault Millau as young chef of the year and I admit he deserves a good quote. The restaurant is very small, around 24 covers only. The kitchen looked also very small which makes his food achievements even more honouring. He works with a fix menu to choose the 4, 5 or 6 course. The sommelier/maitre, young talent, not too much show but excellent in his way. explanations were great and the sugested wines by the glass every course were such an experience. Only for this we will be back. Also 6€ per glass is reasonably priced. We started after fine amuses with a combination of smoked eel, chicory, wheat and white beer. The combination with an Hungarian Riesling wine was excellent. Followed by skrei with romanesco cauliflower, coquilles, ostend prawn. nice dish but maybe sme more coquilles st jaques. As a main course the slow cooked young pig was excellent of taste and nicely combined with sorrel and sauerkraut. I am not a pinot noir lover but this one, Bautsta 2009, was very good. A dessert of cocos and the homemade chocolates with the coffee. Congratulations for this young team and thanks for making our Be-Gusto event again a success....

Very professional service, all quite young personnel that fits very well with the atmosphere they want to create in the restaurant. Interior is modern style with warm colours and ancient details of the former labour house in the beautiful city center of Leuven. High level of sophisticated cuisine, lots and lots of energy is put in the way of dressing the plate as well as producing a variety of flavours. The 'not every day' wines served were not only very good, they lifted all the dishes to an even higher level....


To be improved (Trente):

Due to the efforts put in the way of creating nice dishes, the chef should not forget to get decent portions on the plate as well. Not that you get out with a hungry feeling, but the size of portions could be a bit larger. The restaurant is very small, though 2 tables were left empty and walk-by guests were refused. It is hard to believe that 4 more persons would really make that big difference in stress and quality fot both kitchen and service. On the contrary a young recent restaurant should not forget about it's economical and financial goals ... it was a bit odd....

Cela fait 3 fois que j’y vais et que je n’ai pas été déçu. Le restaurant est situé dans une superbe demeure d’un des plus beaux villages de Wallonie. Le cadre de cette ancienne bergerie est d’une grande beauté et a un splendide jardin d’hiver et une orangerie. De la table il y a une vue splendide sur le jardin. La carte des vins assez complète. Le patron maître-cuisinier contrôle la cuisine et surveille chaque table de la salle avec un large sourire. Cuisine au goût du jour d’excellente qualité et d'une grande fraicheur. Très belle carte mais je conseille pour le rapport qualité/prix les menus qui sont particulièrement attrayants dont le grand menu : les Caprices de Charlotte à 55€ ou 75€ accompagné d’une sélection de vins découvertes. Cette fois-ci, nous avons opté pour le menu de la mer à 38€: l’apéritif : 4 coupes de champagne (10€) accompagnées de petites dégustations. Ensuite le menu de la mer : quinoa au saumon fumé et mousse d’amandes, wok de fruit de mer et petits légumes et citronnelle(délicieux), daurade rôtie(parfaitement cuite) au fenouil, citron vert et sarriette accompagné de riz basmati aux zestes d’agrumes et comme dessert, un nougat glacé à la pistache nappé d’un coulis de framboises. Le tout accompagné d’une bouteille de Châteauneuf du Pape blanc 2009 (62€) dont j’ai oublié le producteur, 2 1/2 bouteilles d’eau (3,50€), 4 cafés accompagnés de mignardises (3,50 €)...

Après une année, nous sommes retournés dans cette superbe demeure que j’ai déjà décrite. Le cadre est toujours aussi charmant et les tables très bien dressées. Le chef Olivier Wilbers était certainement absent ce vendredi soir. En effet, nous ne l’avons pas vu en salle, ce qui expliquerait cette cuisine en partie décevante en comparaison de ce que nous avons connu, cela malgré les ingrédients de base qui sont toujours de très bonne qualité et l’assiette très belle. Le service laissait vraiment à désirer. Le personnel était froid, distant et vraiment nul. Nous avons choisi le menu au cœur des saveurs à 40€. Pour commencer, des dégustations apéritives quelconques sans saveurs particulières: mousse de poissons, caviar d’aubergine et petite tranche de jambon fumé. - Très bon et gouteux foie gras de canard préparé maison, déclinaison autour de l’hibiscus. - Excellentes Saint Jacques grillées comme il se doit, écrasé de panais au cerfeuil, Lemon cress et yuzu. - Ballottines de faisan trop cuites, farci aux pleurotes, flambées au whisky, embeurrée de choux vert et lard fumé, pommes raves. La sauce avait un goût de fond de viande et non de gibier ni de whisky, totalement sans saveur. - En dessert, un très bon dôme de chocolat Carabe, mousse de coing et coulis de poire. - Les mignardises arrivèrent après le café (3,50€). Un bon petit Côte du Rhône 2007 de chez Guigal (25€) et deux 1/2 bouteilles d’eau minérale (3,50€). Heureusement que nous avions 2 bons de réduction offerts dans la revue Flair et nous n’avons payé qu’un menu sur deux donc 126,00€ pour 4 au lieu de 206,00€....

Il est pratiquement impossible de réserver une table pour le samedi soir car le restaurant est presque toujours réservé pour des mariages....

Bonjour, Après notre désagréable découverte de la Brasserie Gaillard à Corbais, Le couple d'amis que l'on avait invité nous a fait découvrir la Brasserie Edouard de Grez-Doiceau......Surprise ! Une équipe qui travaillait avec plaisir....A nous faire plaisir, nous y avons dégustés pour ma fille des fettucii jambon fromage, pour ma femme une salade " M. COUSTEAU" , pour moi un magret de canard aux pleurotes cuit rosé, nos amis ont choisis des moules maison et médina ! Rien à redire ! Sinon que nous avons eu affaire à des professionnels de la cuisine et de l'accueil.... C'est avec grand plaisir que nous y retournerons !!!...

Le samedi 14 janvier 2012nous avons organisé un petit souper, à des prix je ne peux plus démocratique ! Pour 26 personnes ...18.50 euros le repas et 7.50 pour 2 verres de vins 1/4de bouteilles d'eaux et un café et ce dans une petite salle. Le menu se compose soit d'un magret de canard au caramel léger, pommes croquette ou tournedos de st Pierre à la crème de ciboulette fine purée au beurre frais. Le fondant au chocolat, noix et noisettes ou la crème de sabayon à l'amaretto. L'ensemble était bien géré, sauf peut être le fondant au chocolat trop sec. La fermeture à minuit un peu saisissante pour un samedi soir ! DOMMAGE !!!! Enfin tout les mets avaient une belle présentation et d'une cuisson parfaite...Merci ! Le payement a été effectué avec carte AMEX sans problème. Merci pour tout !!!!...

very special location - great food - also good to visit with many people! This restaurant is also housed in the authentic 15th century cellars that initially were used by merchants as a storage place during the two major annual fairs of Antwerp. The medieval set-up of this restaurant is unique in Antwerp and is reproduced in a life-like way. In the restaurant of Breughellian days, you eat with a spoon and your hands. Obviously, you drink from a mug. Wine, beer and water are served out of jugs. The dishes will be prepared from a medieval recipe and the menu will take you back to the days of yore. The romantic candlelight goes with the soft renaissance dance music in the background, the same period from which the building dates. The costumes of the waiters and the decoration seem to have been taken directly from a painting of Breughel....

Une sympathique brasserie au coeur de Louvain, où les bières maison (de bonne facture, mais peu de choix) cotoyent les grandes marques du pays. Pas exceptionnel au niveau gastronomique, mais une bonne expérience dans l'ensemble, grâce à un service agréable, parfaitement anglophone et attentif aux allergies. Avec ses différentes salles réparties sur plusieurs niveaux et recoins, le Domus offre un grand nombre de places tout en restant convivial....

Le choix de plats est assez limité, beaucoup de snacks et peu d'options roboratives (ce qui correspond au fond au modèle du eetcafe flamand, n'empêche que). Service un peu débordé, quelques erreurs de commande....

We had the fish menu @ 80 EUR pp, which was in the end, a bit overpiced. Grilled oysters with leek: very nice dish but 4 large oysters was a bit too much, 2 would have suited as well Langoustines and roasted pig: nice but too much Sorbet of champagne: very tasty Main dish lobster and riz de veau, pasta: way too uch and too heavy, the lobster was overcooked (a shame ...) Creme brulee was very nice as dessert Mignardises: ok nothing special...
