Manque de luminosité, mais je pense que c'est dû au fait de vouloir garder une ambiance tamisée façon "bancaire" Le supplément risoto (5€) non indiqué sur la carte (ou alors très discrètement car 2 amis l'ont loupé) mais pas oublié lors de l'addition...

cuisine recherchée dans un cadre agréable. Service correct j'ai apprécié la carte des champagnes dans laquelle j'ai decouvert des champagne plutot ignoré néanmoins à découvrir rapport qualité prix....

Délicieux macarons, mon préféré caramel beurre salé. J'en ai jamais mangé d'aussi bon. On sent bien le côté beurre salé et la douceur du caramel Je les trouve plus riche en saveur qu'une fameuse marque de macarons. Jolie boutique à Reims avec beau packaging...

We had read very mixed reviews on TripAdvisor about this restaurant, while researching a hotel to stay and deciding finally to stay at the hotel where this restaurant is located. We loved the hotel, a 15th century French castle surrounded by a moat in the middle of the Champagne country, but also very much enjoyed this restaurant. We saw it when we first arrived at the hotel and loved the decoration. Set in a large, well lit room with a large fireplace at one end and tapestries at the wall, it tastefully blends a touch of antique with a freshness of current design that works very well. We had lunch there today as last night they were full and we were afraid we would miss the experience of tasting the cuisine. As you can imagine, they have a very nice wine list and in particular a lovely champagne selection, although it is true that prices reflect their mark up which is a little rich to swallow if you have been buying the same wines during the day for one third to one quarter the price: hell they have to make a living. The food was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and original. The lamb chops we ordered were not only delicious (I checked and they were indeed from Ireland where I am convinced you find the most tasty lamb) but perfectly cooked (which is rare in many restaurants). The service was a little more erratic: the top two people seemed to know what they were doing but the third did not. Nothing to ruin the meal but we are being critics here and this is a restaurant that could aim for a Michelin star if it got a few things right. Decor is there, food is near perfect, so service was the main issue. That and the fact they did not have an expresso machine and served us American coffee is expresso cups....need I say more (and they charged us 10 Euro for the "expressos"!). Excellent restaurant to throw a party or to do a champagne tasting. They do have some nice vegetarian choices, but otherwise typically French menu with nice choices....

Buy an expresso machine. Work on training staff to a higher standard of excellence. Otherwise very nice....

Trrès déçu par ce restaurant pourtant cité dans de nombreux guides. Tête de veau immangeable Peu copieux et trois fois rien dans les assiettes Encore un piège à touristes Service peu sympathique...

Une cuisine d'exception !!!...

L'accès y est difficile pour moi,. je viens de suisse ;-)...

We were staying in the village of Etoges, near to Montmort-Lucy where the restaurant being reviewed is located, on a short visit to the Champagne area. We can heartily recommend the hotel Chateau d'Etoges where we stayed as a good base for discovering the area. The chateau has an excellent restaurant but it was full the night we arrived and so they referred us to this eatery (see my review of the chateau's restaurant: the food is excellent. It is called Restaurant de l'Orangerie). Sorry for that digression and back to rating this restaurant. Situated in the main square as its name suggests, it does not look like much from outside and is even less impressive inside (it looks like a massive area used for wine making that was transformed into a restaurant), but overall we had a lovely, if simple, meal and left quite delighted. The price was a bit steep for what we had, but if you take out the champagne it came to about 40 Euro per person. The foie gras was excellent and the service very friendly. We particularly recommend the apple tart for dessert....
