Comment (Emmenhof):You wouldn't expect it in this place, next to a busy transfer road between the A1 highway and the small city of Burgdorf. But it's really a place for gourmets with a modern french cuisine. It has received 17 Gault Millau points. We were invited by friends and very kindly expected and greeted by Mme Schürch in broad Bernese accent. While still choosing our meal we were served a nice little selection of amuse bouche. The raw langustino entry plate was decorated with little snails and some vegetables. The main course with coté of beef was served with fried potatoes with black olives and garlic potatoes as well as a creamy truffle puree. Delicious. The nice selection of cheese was very good again and we weren't able to take any more deserts afterwards. Nice friandises accompanied the strong espresso. As our friends took over the bill I can't give a price indication, but I understood that it is rather at the higher end of the scale....

Comment (National):Das National in Burgdorf entpuppt sich als gemütliche Gaststube mit gut bürgerlicher Küche. Wir beginnen den Abend mit einem Prosecco und einem Bier. Weiter ging es mit dem Rindscarpaccio mit Trüffel und einem grünen Salat. Beides gute Portionen. Das Brot dazu sehr fein. Danach gab es für uns einmal das Rehgeschnetzeltes à la minute mit hausgemachten Spätzli und den Rindsfiletspiess mit Gemüse und Pommes frites (siehe Bilder) Das Reh war genau richtig angebraten und in einer feinen Sauce serviert. Die Spätzli einfach sagenhaft. Das Rindsfilet geschmacklich fein, jedoch ein bisschen dünne Stücke auf dem Spiess gesteckt. Da hätte man lieber weniger Stücke, dafür dickere. Die Pommes waren nichts besonderes. Das Gemüse jedoch frisch. Dazu genossen wir einen feinen halben Liter Amarone. Die Bedienung war freundlich und der Service war schnell. Die Weinempfehlung lautete eher nach Häufigkeit des Verkaufes wie des Geschmackes. Spezielles auf der Karte und auch auf der Webseite angepriesen sind die Cordon Bleus, leider nur mit Schweinefleisch erhältlich. Preislich absolut in Ordnung....
