Some of us were very hungry, others less. The first ones went for salad, linguine or a salmon tartar. Each dish was well presented. Good quantity and very tasty. Those who had more room in their stomach went for the menu: a poached egg with black truffle as a starter, followed by a wonderful looking carré de veau and pineapple carpaccio for dessert....

Invited by good friends for a special occasion, we were looking forward to our meal at this restaurant that is so well spoken of in Gstaad. The first appearance is that this is a hotel in need of a fresh touch of decoration. The deco, while not unattractive, dates and looks like one of these places lost in the 60's, although well kept up. It will certainly appeal more to those nostalgic for this type of look (of which I believe there are many in this area of the Alps). Unfortunately I am not one of the latter as you can tell. As far as service, the level is very good, and there is always someone to ask you if they can help you and when you come into the restaurant it is no exception. The Maitre d' keeps an eye on everything and, although I would not rank him in the very highest leagues, is most attentive and friendly. The restaurant is divided into an interior area and an exterior area. Outside there is a large parasol covering which gives shade to most of the tables, but some are in the sun for those wanting to bronze while they eat. It is true there is a nice view, if somewhat blighted when we were there by the sight of the construction on the Alpina hotel and residence complex on the opposite hill. As this was a special occasion based around a gourmet meal for four we focused on enjoying our food to the outmost. Main courses were all around 70 SFr so you are left in no doubt that this is a restaurant that takes itself seriously. We ordered several dishes. I had a market salad to begin with and chicken for a main course (which was served in two servings). I must say that even though the presentation was good, and the cuisson correct, I was left without the feeling that this was really a superb culinary job as I would have expected. The food was nice, but nothing was exceptional and certainly not good enough to justify the reviews I have seen on iTaste in my humble opinion. The salad was good but the dressing was a little off and a few of the items in the salad were pleasantly original and a few less pleasant but equally original. The chicken was a bit tough and nothing to write home about. In all an agreeable meal in a nice setting with good service but not worth the prices paid or the reputation....

Fondue chinoise....with veal and beef. Possibly one of the best: the meat sliced were generous and tasted very well. We had a huge choice of side-dishes: rösti, french fries, mashed potatoes, rice, vegetables.......

Voici une bonne découverte en plein coeur du centre touristique (donc plutôt chic) de Gstaad offrant certainement l'un des meilleurs qualité/prix de la station pour celui qui rechercher des plats simples et typiques du Saanenland sans trop se ruiner. En effet, une fois passé la porte du Stübli, l'une des deux salles du Posthotel Rössli de Gstaad, on pénètre dans une salle à manger typique de bistro bernois : trophées de chasse aux murs, lampes en bronze, boiseries peintes... Bref, ça fleure bon le patrimoine et la tenue des serveuses en habits d'époque rajoute une touche d'authenticité au cérémonial sans pour autant verser dans le chichi ou le "too much" en anglais dans le texte (très courant à Gstaad...). On adore. Pour le coup de fourchette, la carte propose des plats typiques de la région : croûtes au fromage de belle facture et savoureuses, rösti maison, fondues, mais aussi quelques poissons (pas testés) et spécialités de la maison, comme ce succulent poussin au four au pesto de noix et tomates séchées, haricots croquants et rösti maison. Les desserts n'ont pas été testé en raison d'une croûte au fromage plus que roborative, mais ils ne sembles pas être la spécialité de la maison, sous réserver d'une petite tarte du chef qui trônerait encore derrière le comptoir pour les 4 heures. Les prix sont raisonnables tout en étant légèrement en dessous de ce qui se pratique en moyenne dans la station. Au final, le cadre charmant d'un bistro typique bernois, l'accueil chaleureux des serveuses en tenue et du patron qui passe faire son tour de salle (ça devient rare !), la cuisine régionale simple et bien maîtrisée font de ce lieu une de mes adresses préférées dans le Gstaad qui fait rêver sans se ruiner pour autant, à condition que l'on ne soit pas trop porté sur la carte des vins... Rapport qualité/prix très avantageux....

Bien que le restaurant ait étécomplètement réservé, mon épouse et moi avons été accueillis fort chaleureusement par une serveuse, qui a trouvé un créneau horaire nous permettant de manger. Même si ce restaurant est réputé pour la chasse, nous avons mangé une terrine de saucisse de gibier fort goûteuse, suivie d'une fondue aux truffes noires au parfum inégalable....

Assez déçu par cette incontournable table de cette "vielle dame". Pâtes sans goûts, desserts inexistants... Seul le buffet d'Antipasti est à la hauteur. Et le spectacle digne d'un film de Felini qui se déroule sous vos yeux....

La belle terrasse, "chic" même sur du mobilier en plastique. Une cuisine simple mais de qualité....

The diversified menu which gives everybody the right to choose between very different options...

Quite a busy spot as it has easy parking, is close to the slopes, and has a large terrace. The indoor areas are divided into three sections (with only a slight difference with the decor or emplacement to differentiate them), but the area I prefer is to the right as you come in through main entrance. The service is efficient if a little distant, food is correct but not gourmet, but what I love most is that there is a large menu that gives you plenty of choice and that there is a play room in the basement that keeps kids distracted for hours. It is also a nice melange of clientele attracting the local farming community as well as Gstaad's jet set crowd....

Restaurant style rustique chic - service efficace - cuisine du terroir - roestis moelleux - coin pizzeria avec des pizzas bien cuites et fines ! Vin Pinot noir du Valais de chez Bonvin. Excellent !...

Le bar devant est très sympathique tandis que la salle derrière est un peu plus formelle mais avec une bonne ambiance quand il y a du monde en saison. Un musicien joue de la musique italienne dans la salle derrièr. Il y a aussi une très bonne carte de vins....

Ils servent une très bonne cuisine avec des produits frais. Le service est agréable et efficace!...

Un classique de la station, Service à la hauteur des prix mais avec la gentillesse et le sourire en plus. Très jolie carte ,variée. Les pâtes sont excellentes et mon boeuf fût saignant à souhait, les légumes l accompagnant croquants et frais à provoquer le suicide d un cadre de chez Findus ! Belle carte des vins. Le grand : "Le CHARLY OLLEG" transalpin qui nous donne envie de racheter le best of de feu Jo dassin.......

le top du top, voir et être vu, surtout la Cave en hiver un des meilleurs endroits de la station...

Portion petit (surtout après une journée de ski), vins trop cher....

Excellente brasserie bernoise alpine à midi, Resto chic et gastro le soir. Hôtel familial simple d'esprit et confort grand luxe. Accueil extrêmement chaleureux....

saltimboca et steak de bœuf sur lit de salade. Goofy pour les pitchounes. il faudra que je revienne pour le filet de bœuf du Saanenland, avec sa purée de céleri et sa sauce porto/échalotes !...

Absolutely delicious cooking. Wonderful service and exceptional wine waiter. Nice friendly chalet style decor. We ate truffles and were very happy!...

Bistrot sympa mais sans plus. Qualité de la nourriture est bonne mais manque d'originalité. Terrasse très agréable l'été. Service très bon....

Food, location, atmosphere....

Nous avons mal été accueilli par le patron. Ensuite, nous n'avons jamais eu le même serveur. Les pâtes alla vongole étaient plus qu'al dente et sans goût et les spaghetti rialto étaient vraiment pas terrible, le pesto n'était pas fait maison et la sauce tomate était très acide. Le rapport qualité-prix est pas terrible, c'est cher pour ce que c'est....

Nouvelle direction et chef depuis novembre 2011. The place to be in Gstaad cette année. Bonne cuisine service rapide et efficace et pas trop de chichis. Vraiment une bonne adresse qui a rapidement trouve sa clientèle. J'ai mange une assiette de légume grilles et parfaitement assaisonnés et un risotto de fruit de mer délicieux. je n'ai bêtement pas pris de vin malgré une excellente carte car je suis en "repos biologique annuel"...

This restaurant has been on my mental (sorry Itaste you did not exist yet then) list of places I want to go. Its decor is sleek and designer and walking by it looks like such a cool place to hang out for a coffee and what is more they serve food. So it was with some delight that I went there today. An interesting menu with some unusual dishes all focused on Italian food and pasta in particular which was just fine with us. A bit pricey but then what isn't in Gstaad. NIce chairs and nice feeling inside. The place was full and it looked like one of those days when a waiter has not showed up as the staff was stressed but as it emptied out they "found" time for us and we ordered. Besides the fact that the salad never showed up and that my wife's pasta was cold (they immediately made a fresh plate) you had a mixed impression of the service. Not what you would expect for a restaurant with these prices which, although not super expensive are at the higher end of what you pay for 8 ravioli. The food was good "sans plus" which is such a shame as you feel that if they got the food and service right they would have a gold mine here and one that people would actually walk away from saying, wow I want to come back. (They also forgot the second bottle of water we asked for and a second waiter asked us if we wanted to order when we had already ordered....). Anyway I have given it 13 knowing it could be a 15 or 16 but that currently it is more of an 11 if what we experienced today is anything to go by. I would go back to give it a second try just in case we had a particularly bad day. Parking easy under the ice-rink....

The food was OK, the menu fun, but the delivery was OK if you do not consider that it is charging on the high end in which case service drops to "failure"....

I believe this is the best mountain top restaurant in Gstaad. The view is spectacular, the decoration is fun and cosy, the food is good to delicious. Sit outside on the large sunny terrace or cosy up to the log fire inside and while away in the best possible manner the rest of your day whilst sipping a great bottle of wine! The menu is original with the local terroir food and some more adventurous fusion dishes. Indulge in the enormous basket of delicious Meringues à la Double Crème de Gruyère and have a cigar from their great selection!...

On busy days service grinds to a standstill......

Très bien les deux restaurants de l'Hôtel: Prado (plus chic), Coelho (un peu plus décontracté mais tout de même élégant). Ambiancée 5 étoiles mais décontractée. Excellent sommeiller....

amazing little original back room restaurant! If you go from the back of the hotel, not the main street, you enter this beautiful fully wood furnished little restaurant that serves the best beef tartar and fondue fromage in gstaad! Definitely worth it and it did not seem touristy at any time, maybe because of the almost hidden location....

Eating well over lunch when you are out skiing is, I believe, one of the greater pleasures of life. It is true that certain resorts are better known for the restaurants on the pistes: I think of Courchevel, Val d'Isere, Megeve, and Zermatt in particular. Others, like Chamonix or even Gstaad have less to boast about. This restaurant is at the top of the main lift you take up to Horneggli Mountain from Schonried so is easily accessible also to those that are not skiing. It has a large terrace but you would only want to sit out here on a very sunny day or later in the winter season as temperatures rise. Inside is an agreeable if slightly hectic environment not unlike most of the other traditional mountain restaurants in this area. What I would say is that the service is quick and very friendly in this restaurant. Unfortunately the food is not quite of the same calibre as the service and while this restaurant can be a convenient place to meet up you should not come here expecting or looking for gourmet fare. The kids though seemed not to notice (bless them for not having yet developed tastes for expensive foods) and were happy with their chicken nuggets and fries. There are several large tables ideal for families (that seat 9-12 fairly easily). Be sure to book ahead for lunch....

Exceptionnelle terrasse au soleil face au Diablerets et à la GumFluhe. Nourriture suisse sans histoire (rösti, käseschnitte, ....). Service rapide...

That the food is nothing special....

Le service ultra professionel, l'ambiance chic et pourtant relax. Excellente et authentique cuisine italienne....

Un sommet, dans un écrin de la Belle au bois dormant ! Invités pour un repas, nous avons étés ébahis par la qualité des mets et un service très attentionnée et chaleureux. J'ai débuté avec une excellente saladine de homard, puis un sompteux pavé de boeuf au poivre....

Le prix, même si ça le vaut bien.....
