La meilleur terrasse du centre ville...

Cadre magnifique (médiéval, château), service impécable et repas délicieux (tendre steak accompagné de sauces exquises avec des frites crocantes et une salade fraîche à souhait, sans parler de l'excellent choix de vins). Je suis venu à ce restaurant en suivant les recommendation iTaste, je ne regrète pas, à recommender vivement!...

Cocktails mal fait......

Le vin était un peu trop "chaud", ~22°C...

De la pure gastronomie! Ce (tout petit) restaurant merite son macaron michelin et le patron inspire la joie de vivre et les ingredients precieux. Une de ses specialités a ne pas rater est...la chasse a la truffe! en effet Roger Jones organise une fois par an une ceuillette de truffe Anglaise avec ses clients,suivie d' un cours de cuisine puis une degustation le soir au restaurant de tous les plats "truffés de bons gouts" et accompagnés des meulleurs crus de sa carte. I had dinner here with my girlfriend in June 2009 and we had a romantic evening. The room and ambience are very romantic and the service was very friendly. We had the Tasting Menu and a good bottle of Australian Shiraz. The wine selection is good and the prices are excellent. The menu was good, but nothing special in my opinion. I don't remember the courses now, just an excellent Trifle as a dessert. I recommend the restaurant because it is very romantic....

service charge only added for larger groups! Maybe easier to add it to all bills?...

Poisson d'excellent qualité et sublime huitres d'écosse...

Cadre sympa, large choix de bière et salle de concert à l'étage...

Fan de pub, rock anglais et bon burgers, c'est a vous de gouter! Avec un peu de chance vous pouvez rencontrer le celebre groupe "Radiohead" qui habite a 200 metres et qui a fait ces debut dans cette taverne!...

Bruyant mais bon...c'est un pub etudiant!!!...

The Cherwell Boathouse is an iconic Oxford punt station and restaurant on the banks of the river Cherwell, in an idyllic water meadow setting. Established in 1904 and still a family run, working Boathouse and restaurant with over 80 handmade punts in the water. The punting season is mid March to mid October open ten am till dusk. The well known local restaurant has a superlative wine list and is open all year round with an alfresco terrace on the decking in the summer. In season, the Teahut Bar and Cafe serves light food and drinks on a river terrace all day long. Private parties, events and corporate entertainment are available fully catered, to your needs from March to October in the Marquee overlooking the river....

This is a beautiful and very good restaurant in the Cotswolds (one of britain's most beautiful and romantic regions) that I visited in June 2010. It is set in Upper Slaughter (a beautiful small village and it is also a very nice Hotel). The ambience and room are elegant and very nice and the service is professional and friendly. The food is very good, we loved especially the Breaded Marrow Bone (delicious). The wine list is quite good and the prices are ok. It is very peaceful and romantic and I highly recommend it....

Atmosphere amicale, vous vous entirez recu comme un habitué des le premier jour! Selection de vins geniale et degustation (12 vins) de 11h a 22h. Un concept pedagogique et ludique a ne pas rater!...

Feu de cheminée et acceuil chaleureux! cuisine francaise Anglisisée par des francais...delicieux. une legende sur Oxford! Amateurs d'Alice aux pays des merveilles, vous risquez de tomber a la renverse quand vous apprendrez la vérité!...

Mangez en prison!!! Il s'agit la d'un etablissement qui m'a completement mis a la renverse! L'ancienne prison d'Oxford transformée en hotel 5 etoiles avec une brasserie moderne qui merite franchement le detour! 1) Oxford est une ville magnetique geniale 2) Malmaison est a visiter mais chuuuut ne dites rien et faite la surprise a celui ou celle que vous invitez...en prison!...

Le staff est bien trop aimable pour une prison! et les gamelles sont bien trop gastro! (JOKE)...

Ambiance "bouchon Lyonnais" pour ceux qui connaissent. bruyant sympa et convivial. Humour du staff toujours au RDV. Assiettes bien garnies et gouteuses....

Pierre Victoire etait le nom de la franchise qui etait proprietaire il y a quelques années. Cette enseigne n'etait pas a la hauteur de la qualité que nous procure le nouveau patron de nos jours....

C'est un endroit un peu fou ou il est recommandé de reserver a l'avance ou de venir avec un habitué. Gerry a ses tetes, il vous adore ou il vous deteste...c'est un peu comme quand il vous donne l'addition. Le secret dans tout ca, c'est la passion du gout, de la bonne chair, des grands vins...et des cigares! Tout est qualitatif dans ce restaurant, jusqu'au couteau geant (Opinel) que Jerry utlilise pour vous trancher le saucisson. Pour info: vous pourrez lire a l'entrée que ce pub a été élu le pub "le plus plouc de l'année" suite a une engeulade avec un journaliste, ce qui n'a fait qu attirer encore plus d'afficionados! Vous lirez aussi que les vegetariens sont acceptés sur rdv uniquement! Ce Gerry est vraiment un numero! On l'aime ou on deteste mais on ne reste pas indifferent a son style. Je vous aurais prévenu! Petit mot sur la carte quand meme...c'est tout bon, mais ca se merite! You either love it or you hate it – I love it!! You would not be expected to pop in just for a drink – unless you know Gerry very well – but to eat. This pub/restaurant is more like a gentlemen’s club: quite dark with pictures covering every inch of the wall. What I love is the pure political incorrectness of it all. Gerry advertises that children are not welcome, vegetarians are by appointment only, mobile phones are not allowed and that he has a particular aversion to media restaurant critics. He has gained massive publicity from Michael Winner describing the restaurant as the “tackiest pub in Great Britain” and the Telegraph suggesting “it is probably the most expensive pub in Britain.” Michael Winner and Gerry certainly didn’t hit it off but this is mostly because Gerry would not bow down to the self important Winner. Yet the place is regularly frequented by Raymond Blanc and celebrities are often seen sipping what Gerry describes as “the best Bloody Mary in England.” You are encouraged to smoke cigars – God knows what is going to happen next summer with the smoking ban but I have an inkling..........! You are likely to be thrust a vintage Armagnac or Cognac whether you like it or not and the wine list which for years was just French has now radically branched out to include Italy and Spain. It was in this capacity that I last had lunch there. A select few of us were tasting through a range of top class Italian wines to add to his list. Gerry had been roasting some lamb over the open fire all morning and it was quite delicious served simply with potatoes and carrots. This was followed by a selection of cheeses, with which he served a Beaujolais, one of his house wines. This I considered a strange choice but it tasted delicious and so refreshing after the heavy Italian reds. The fruit was pure and the taste simple and only Gerry could do this. He has been buying this directly from France for many years and as with many other products he builds up good long term relationships with his suppliers. He’s not prepared to compromise on quality and as he says “the food we serve is simply the best and our quality is remembered long after the price is forgiven”. Gerry doesn’t do credit cards – only Amex – so insure you have cash or your cheque book with you. We got caught out a few years ago when a supplier (who was paying) didn’t have the means to pay but Gerry simply suggested that I put a cheque in the post – no address required, no security but just a knowing trust that it would be done. This place is definitely worth a visit. You won’t be rushed, you will be well fed and watered by Gerry’s almighty hand and one way or another you will definitely remember you have been there! South Leigh is not far from Eynsham and Stanton Harcourt. You can arrive at the Mason Arms by helicopter or indeed by Hispano-Suiza, Bugatti and Ferrari (Gerry is a car and motorbike fanatic); if this is the case you will be guaranteed a free drink. Cadre exeptionnel, chaleureux avec salons privés...

Situé dans la petite ruelle de South Parade a summertown (Oxford), le restaurant Portabello est entouré de Theatre, galerie d'art, bars a vins et boutiques de lingerie feminine chicos! Le restaurant est tres distingué, le personnel est tres professionnel et connait son metier...vous y serez bien recu, sans aucun doute! sur le plan culinaire, il n'y a rien a redire, c'est la tendance actuelle anglaise, les ingredients sont locaux et le chef travaille essentiellement avec du bio. Les saveurs sont originales et la viande est superbement bien choisie! C'est bon, c'est simple, c'est pro et tres elegant. Ideal pour un diner en amoureux! Pour les rendez-vous d'affaires, vous avez un superbe salon a l'etage d'une capacité de 30 personnes a peu pres (Ca peut etre utile!) Welcome to Portabello.
