Berghotel zum Weissen Kreuz Pub, Bistro, Brasserie

Comment Quite a large, not very attractive space inside with a small terrace outside. Very much the locals' hang out and the main and only restaurant in town (there is another down by the river which is open in summer). I prefer the restaurant by the river but if you do decide to eat here, and if weather permits, head for the terrace. There is a limited menu and the food is agreeable without being anything special. This is typical village fare. Service is friendly and efficient. Prices a little steep for what it is.

It is fantastic to walk from Saanen to Ablandschen (2 hours) and then to have lunch and come back by taxi or to get picked up by friends/family.

To be improved Lots but then it would not be what it is. It is just another authentic mountain eatery not trying to be anything else than what it is.
