Convenient location in Nisantasi, big parking available, nice terrace and view when weather allows.
Pretentious restaurant with sloppy service and average quality of food.
For example, the grilled calamari were evidently fresh from the freezer (you can tell from the "resistance to cut").
The special yogurt kebap was indeed not grilled, like it would always be in the smallest Istanbul restaurant, but "a la plancha", and made with thick lamb fillets covered with plain yogurt.
The grilled seabass was of acceptable quality but tasteless, and "decorated" with equally tasteless boiled potatoes.
And the "traditional Turkish ravioli", filled with lamb minced meat, appeared to be a dish of tortellini covered wth tomato sauce and cream. It was my mistake to order this dish, when I saw "traditional Turkish" I expected something different from tortellini.
As per the maître and waiters, they are totally inadequate to the level Borsa pretends to be. I tried to obtain some advice on the extensive Turkish wine list, ready to order the most expensive one (200TL): the maître instead brought us first a Shiraz and then a Cabernet-Merlot, that was it. The wine (110TL) was drinkable.
Total: 350TL (no dessert)
Superbe cuisine traditionnelle turque.
