Excellent marriages of colour, flavour and texture at this, the flagship of South London restaurants. Expert advice on hand from the sommelier and the fixed price menus keep costs reasonable. Good deals to be had on Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes. Borrow/steal a dog to walk on the neighbouring Common afterwards.

Sometimes the table layout can be a touch crowded.
