Es Xarcu

One of my favourite seaside, lunch spots in Ibiza, if not my favourite. Not known to many, even though it is just near the Blue Marlin which is known to too many, this lovely little restaurant sits on the edge of the sea (and has a jetty for boat-dinghy arrivals). You come here for seafood although they also do meats. Once you have a table (and you can usually get one even when other places are full) go up to the kitchen and choose the fish you want to eat. They are all on display in the refrigerated window and the staff will help you choose the freshest to suit your taste. Be sure to try also the gambas in garlic and oil which are the best I have ever had. Staff are extremely friendly and speak several languages (it is a family run business). Try a nice local rose wine and enjoy some aioli and bread. The scene is "in" but not quite as in as other places so you can really relax. There is a small beech with deck chairs and kids can play around and are welcome. Driving down to the restaurant is a bit hairy as the road is pretty bad and you will probably have to park in the sun as there are not many shady spots. Worth every effort to make the detour if you want something authentic that not too many other know about.

Price are a bit steep and it is not quite as upmarket as some of the other beach restaurants: this is the true flavour so visit it before they decide to go posh.

I am the restaurant owner and I want to answer to my clients
