I was lucky to eat at Widder hotel restaurant during my last stay in Zürich. The hotel is beautiful, it's a modernly renovated old building in the main shopping district, between the Bahnofstrasse and the Limmat.
The food was nicely cooked as well as different and original, although there isn't very much choice. I had a salad, fish for the main course and a desert. Everything was up to expectation. The wine menu was extensive and surprisingly modern. And the staff was professional and friendly.
It's an ideal place for a business lunch or dinner, due to the quality and location. The hotel itself is a 5 star hotel, so it's not cheap but not outrageous either. In summertime eat in the inner court which is darling. Also I would reserve.
Check out the Widder bar, which has quite a reputation and sometimes has live music in the evenings.
