Found a small cockroach in my chicken coconut lemon soup.
I ordered the lunch menu (soup pad thai) for 8.50 euro and offered to pay extra to get the dinner size soup.
Half way through the soup I came across a small cockroach floating between my chicken and mushrooms.
The restaurant was empty and I took the creature on the tip of my knife to the waitress. At this point I had 2 sips of my drink.
I said I'm fine to pay for what i already consumed but no thanks for the pad thai.
(I'm canadian and at home i would expect at the very least not to be charged for the meal but I do understand that client service is somewhat different in Belgium).
Not only did I get the full bill. The waitress charged me extra!
6 euro for the full soup 3 euro for "diverse cuisine".
I wondered if the "diverse cuisine" was the cockroach.
But no, apparently it was a "penalty" for only ordering a starter.
