Basel-Land is beautiful...driving here from Eptingen was spectacular. This is the perfect place to have lunch when on a bike or hiking tour. The meal was a birthday-party for 25. The roast veal was amazing: the Chef came with the big piece of meat, showing it produly before proceeding with the carvery. The side-dishes were nothing out of the ordinary: brussel sprouts, peas, tomatoes, zucchetti and carrots. As the doctor says: greens 1 colour. No birthday cake (the birthday girl's decision) but an impressive dessert buffet: all you can eat or...more than you can ever eat.

Somehow it seemed to be difficult to get water. The bottles were empty, so were the glasses: for the entire duration of the meal we had to repeatedly ask for more water, every time. It's a spa-hotel...there is something here in the atmosphere that reminds you of a retirement home. Or a hospital...
