Located in between the Bairro Alto and Chiado areas of Lisbon, which are the areas most full of life and character, especially in the evening. This is the second restaurant of this chef, a Yugoslav, that is having great success in Lisbon. this is the Bistro; the other is the restaurant. Decor quite modern on two floors. Downstairs is bar and smoking; upstairs is not smoking. We sat upstairs which is cure (ask for a seat by the windows if possible so you get a view. Otherwise the ceiling is a bit low and the atmosphere a bit dark as they like to keep lights dimmed. Great wine selection and very nice sampling of traditional Portuguese dishes, albeit not too heavy. They have good house wines made just for them and will let you try the house wines before being served. We had a cow's tongue which was excellent and not something I would normally try. Everything in fact was good and I would go back in an instant to try the rest of the menu. Prices reasonable.
I found the room upstairs a bit claustrophobic. Would probably sit downstairs as even though a smoking area did not seem very smoky. We thought the service was OK, but a little sloppy for this level of restaurant.
