The chef is one of the most well known in Portugal, he is from oporto and arrive in Lisbon two years ago. The same food from the past, no innovation, expensive.
The restaurant is the most beautiful in Lisbon
Opened 6 months ago, the restaurant is located in the heart of the Chiado district. Its chef, Miguel Castro Silva, is already well know in Porto and this is his first venture in Lisbon. The decor is worth the visit especially to sit in front of one of the fish tanks filled with jelly fish (what variety I do not know) and to take in the vibe. Go at night if possible to get the full impact of the design which plays a lot on light.
The menu is definitely varied and original especially if you do not regularly eat food made by Portuguese hands. This is an expensive venue by Lisbon standards and the result is mixed in my opinion. Highest points go to the decor. The food comes in second with a slightly lower rating. Everything is very fresh, dishes are inventive, and cuisson is excellent but a few of the combinations do not scream victory but rather hoorah, if you get the drift. Still excellent food but not consistent. In last place comes service. What many of these restaurants do these days is try to hire inexpensive staff but fail to give them the training they need to make their establishment shine.
Worth a visit but do not hold your breath.
