Pastelaria Versailles Café, Bistro, Brasserie

Commentaire général One of the few old and authentic pastelarias left in Lisbon and an institution worth visiting. I am not sure if all Portuguese pastries and desserts rank up there in the Hall of Fame, but a few are well worth the detour. While impressive, there is definitely and old world feel to everything here, the decor, the service and the food. Literally only the people look up to date.

You can have savoury (salty) foods including fishes and meats or pastries and cakes or both. I would not come here specifically for the non-pastries and cakes as you can eat better elsewhere. The service is friendly if a bit eccentric and the prices very reasonable. Try the pasteis (croquets) as well as the cream pastries.

Points à améliorer Service and food could do with an uplift but then again you would be messing with an institution and I am not sure many people would appreciate that.
