English style locally sourced organic food. The restaurant--Tom Aitken's bistro--has a loud, buzzing atmosphere, the tiled floors and walls amplify the noise. Clean modern decor which reminds one slightly of an abbatoir, with pictures of pigs and other animals on the walls. Good breakfasts and fun for dinner a deux. Macaroni cheese and truffles is delicious.
Sometimes the food is pretentious. In the effort to have fresh produce, Aitken occasionally re-invents the wheel: the home-made ketchup, for example, is irritating. The delicious burgers would be better served by Mr Heinz's ketchup. It is expensive.
