This is the restaurant of the type of hotel you go to because you are on a reduced budget or because you think it is not worth spending a lot on a place where you will mostly sleep. Read that to mean decor and charm are not high on the list of traits you will remember. This said you should not miss this restaurant. We are not talking yet of a rival to the Père Bise, but the dinner we had here beat expectations by a mile and deserves kudos, recognition, and a hearty congratulations. Everything was well presented, service was excellent, the filets de perches were tender and succulent and a salad of scallops was delicious. We had an Apremont that was also very recommendable and I say this having crossed Apremont off my list of white wines many years ago as something closer to vinegar than wine. Bravo to the chef and the service staff. The deco is an 11, the food and service a 15 going on 16.
